We want to give travelers the most authentic idea of Ethiopia possible.
This includes encounters with people, glimpses into daily life, and personal stories. At the same time, we ensure that such encounters take place in a respectful manner and do not become a staged performance for visitors.
Many of our programs facilitate interactions with local families, business owners, experts, artists, students, or community projects. These interactions often lead to experiences that travelers remember for a very long time.
Homestays & Additional Income Opportunities
In select regions, we collaborate with host families and homestay programs.
These initiatives not only foster meaningful cultural exchanges but also create direct income opportunities for local families.
A large portion of the income remains directly with the hosts and contributes to creating additional economic opportunities outside of traditional tourist centers.
Women's Empowerment
The empowerment of women plays an important role in many of our projects.
We work specifically with female entrepreneurs, female hosts, female tour guides, and local initiatives, and we support projects that provide women with additional educational and income opportunities.
We see great potential, particularly in the tourism sector, to strengthen women’s economic participation and independence.
Our Impact: Finote Ethiopia e. V.
For us, a commitment to sustainability doesn’t end with one single travel experience.
That is why Finote Ethiopia e. V. was founded in 2020 by the founders of BUNA Ventures to support long-term educational, social, and development projects in Ethiopia.
The association is closely linked to the history of BUNA Ventures and is an important part of our social commitment. Through close collaboration with local partners, projects can be identified, supported, and implemented in a sustainable manner right on the ground.
For every traveler, a set amount is contributed to the association’s work. In this way, our guests make a direct contribution to funding educational and development projects in Ethiopia.

Supporting Education
Education is one of the priorities of our work in Ethiopia.
Through Finote Ethiopia e. V., we are currently supporting several elementary schools and educational initiatives in various regions of the country. Together with local partners, we fund, among other things:
- School Supplies and Educational Materials
- Computers, Printers, and IT Equipment
- Furniture and Classroom Supplies
- Hygiene Products for Students
- Educational Materials for Children with Disabilities
- Books and Other Educational Resources
Our goal is to create better learning conditions and educational opportunities for children and young people in the long term.
Scholarship Programs
Together with the University of Gondar, we support students from financially disadvantaged families through scholarship programs.
This support enables young people to access higher education and opens up opportunities for their personal and professional futures.
Water & Infrastructure
Access to clean water remains a challenge in many regions of Ethiopia.
That is why Finote Ethiopia e. V., together with local partners, participates in well-drilling and infrastructure projects that sustainably improve the living conditions of communities.
Support for Women and Families
In addition to educational and infrastructure projects, the organization regularly supports single mothers, widows, and families facing difficult circumstances.
In doing so, we work closely with local partners to provide assistance where it can have a long-term impact.
How BUNA Ventures supports
Therefore, we support tour operators, companies, institutions, and organizations in developing programs that involve local partners, promote cultural exchange, and have the most positive impact possible on the regions visited.
